💸 Pricing

AnkiLingoFlash offers a limited number of free flashcards to get you started. After that, you can use your own OpenAI API key, which is very cost-effective (a dollar can generate thousands of flashcards).

Using Your Own OpenAI API Key

  1. Create an OpenAI Account: Go to the ChatGPT website and sign up for an account.
  2. Generate an API Key:
    • Once you have an account, navigate to the API keys section.
    • Click on Create new secret key.
    • Choose a name for your key, such as AnkiLingoFlash.
    • Click on Create secret key.
    • Note down the generated key, as you will need to enter it into the settings of the AnkiLingoFlash extension.
  3. Add Funds to Your Account:
    • In the OpenAI dashboard, go to the Settings menu.
    • Navigate to the Billing section.
    • Add a minimum of $5 USD (or the equivalent in your local currency) to your account using a credit card or other payment methods provided on the site.
  4. Use the API Key in AnkiLingoFlash:
    • Copy your API key and paste it into the settings of the AnkiLingoFlash extension.
    • After entering your API key, click the validation button.
    • A successful validation will be indicated by the text field border changing to green.
    • Note: You only need to enter and validate your API key once. AnkiLingoFlash will securely store it for future use.
